Theology Network is changing

UCCF continues to be committed to equipping today's Theology students to live and speak for Jesus in their chosen field of study.
Theology Network is now a part of UCCF's Leadership Network, so you can now find our resources at www.uccfleadershipnetwork.org/theology. As a result, this site will be taken down at the beginning of 2019.

FOUNDATIONS is a course from THEOLOGY NETWORK that introduces you to the key doctrines of the Christian faith.

Session 5 – Jesus Christ

Listen  Jesus the Word of God - Don Carson

Scripture  John 1

  1. Why did John choose ‘the Word’ (‘Logos’) to describe Jesus instead of more common terms like ‘Son’ or ‘Light’?
  2. "The Word creates us” – how does this truth relate to human sin; and how does it relate to Jesus’ death on the cross?
  3. Why does it not make sense to ask whether God could have given his revelation through someone other than Jesus?
  4. Why is it essential that Jesus was a real man and that he rose from death bodily?  How does this relate to the Biblical understanding of what faith is?
  5. How do Exodus 33, John 1:14, and 2: 21 relate and what do they tell us about Jesus?
  6. How does Don explain that John teaches that the Word supremely manifests God to us?
